Donald Molleson

Regional Vice President

Donnie Molleson is a 56-year old nontraditional student who has spent the last 37 years of his life in a wheelchair. He retired in 2005 and after traveling around Central California and Western Oregon for a few years, he decided to settle down and do something more constructive with his life. He realized that the periods of his life when he was able to make the greatest contributions were at times when he was a college student.
He has spent the last three years taking classes at Chemeketa Community College studying Electronic Engineering. He enrolled in Chemeketa, and at the urging of a previous advisor, sought out an opportunity to be a part of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. Donnie was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at the Alpha Kappa Omicron 2016 Spring Induction Ceremony.
A degree in Business Administration is just the newest educational goal for Donnie Molleson. Donnie holds an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and an Associates and Bachelors degree in Computer Science. He will formally begin his new degree this fall at Chemeketa Community College.
Vice-President, Interim-President and now the Student Advisor for his chapter, he set his goals, implemented his plans and has achieved the success he now enjoys. His most recent accomplishment was to be elected Vice President of the Rocky Mountain-Cascade Region of Phi Theta Kappa. “It’s not that hard. If I can do it, anyone can!,” Donnie declares.

Tom Thompson

Eastern District Executive

Tom is a native Idahoan who enjoys helping others, even outside of his daily routing, either through volunteering, finding meaningful resources, or as a mentor. Because he wanted to increase the level of support he could provide, he returned to formal education after a lengthy period in the workforce. He is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Social Work, along with a minor in psychology. He has already completed an Associate’s of Liberal Arts and an Associate’s of Criminal Justice at the College of Western Idaho. This year he will be attending the Boise State University Honors College, taking most of his courses at CWI, and serving as the President of the Beta Sigma Pi Chapter at CWI in addition to his regional duties. Tom is excited to make this last year as a student member of PTK be just as monumental as last year and looks forward to being an active alumni and advisor.
